antsays...At least the dog was trained.
Nebosukesays...Works now. But you can bet that won't last. The dog will figure it out sometime.
mechadeathsays...maybe they just trained it not to jump through the open hole :-p
MarineGunrocksays...I saw this on America's funniest home videos a while ago. I wish I was a sifter then, because I laughed my ass off.
And not to break the law, but that isn't a storm door, the the metal one is.
Babymechsays...What the... It's like these people are celebrating that they are smarter than their dog. Way to set the bar.
gorgonheapsays...I wonder if the dog will figure it out. I remember reading about a test where a plate of glass was placed between a barracuda and some smaller fish. Eventually the barracuda came to the realization that he could never eat the smaller fish. They then removed the glass and he never attacked the other fish. I wish I could find the study on it. It was really intriguing.

Memoraresays...Conditioned. Just like people.
The dog is no different than people who conform to cultural or societal conventions (like work) that tell them they must perform in a certain fashion, ie For the Good of the "Team".
Why?
Because.
No other reason is necessary to elicit obediance.
8266says...We are all creatures of habit. Dogs more so then us maybe, but I wouldnt brag about the differance.
