Olbermann breaks new ground

Keith Olbermann break from protocol gives Geraldo Rivera the "Best Person in the World" award. He did so to highlight the fantastic job that Geraldo did of out-shouting Bill-O. O'Reilly was trying to spin a tragic drunk driving fatality into a divisive political issue concerning illegal immigration. I'm pretty sure that the whole episode is included in this clips, but if not, check it out here.

Seen the tripe that IS, the shouting match between these two icons of sheit. Rivera is as much a schlockmaster of divergent spin as O'Reilly, they both put personality over substance, in most cases....THIS tirade was no different.....

and yeah, dumbasses, it was NOT an issue of drunk driving as Heroldho Revolta kept hammering....It IS an issue of that illegal fuck. Had he not been here , the shit would not have happened!

In this particular case, Owned'Reily was correct. The problem would not have been one, if the illegal alien situation was taken care of, in a country that will soon be the United State of Illegal Mexicans Here.

Idiots!! Wanna see the U.S. in twenty five years???? Look to England, France, and other such sovereign-soon-not-to-be-countries, and get yer history- repeating answer....Those countries problems are caused by illegals from other countries, the US happens to have a paper-thin border and policies, with MEXICO!!

So, fuck the divergent drunk driving issue, which is a non-issue, designed to call attention to emotionalism, instead of the CAUSE of the problem, the non-exitent border, between U.S. and Mexico, and the equally as non-existent enforcement of laws concerning their extradition, and prosecution.....

Most countries don't let folks from bordering nations, waltz in and start working....MY fucked up, unconscious, full of Un-concerned meatbots country, the U.S....DOES!!!

Chomsky saw the writing on the wall 30 years ago......The future of the U.S. and of the world, is the 3rd World!!!!

Heroldho, needs an award, and only blood loss would do justice to honor his contributions to "journalism" (termed used very, very lightly...)

and O'wnedReily??? Tarred, feathered, for a start, and perhaps the lone corpse detail for G.Revileda....

krumzysays...

what? are you saying that the guy would have been less compelled to drive while intoxicated if he was an american?

both geraldo and oraley are some of the saddest dumbest fucks I have ever seen, but one of them seems to have more common sense than the other. You cant blame the guy for being an undocumented immigrant, but you can blame him for being an ignorant fuck, and ignorance is universal and extremely prominent in mr.oraley's country.
You can't blame something like this on the 'what if's, because they are countless. And I dont even want to think of a place that will deport a guy for getting a parking ticket.

I hope i misunderstood what you were trying to say because if you are the type of person that would rather close himself off from the world and live in your happy little bubble rather than accept something as simple as diplomacy then im not sure how you found TAYtv in the first place

"Had he not been here , the shit would not have happened!"

What if the tables were turned and it was an american drunk-driver killing an illegal immigrant? You could say the same exact same thing, but perhaps it wouldnt taste so good then.

Wumpussays...

"What if the tables were turned and it was an american drunk-driver killing an illegal immigrant?"

Then the illegal-immigrant would still be alive if he stayed in his own country.

vsmacsays...

choggie is making the same type of mistake as O'Reilly did in analyzing the situation. The point G.R. made is that the cause of the situation is drunk driving not the person's origin or race. Correlation does not imply causation -look it up.

Using the erroneous thinking of O'Reilly you can blame any number of "causes" on this tragedy. You could blame the alien's parents for conceiving him (If it weren't for his parents, he wouldn't have been here!).

An illegal immigrant isn't more likely to be DUI than a citizen hence it's not the issue.

choggiesays...

[what? are you saying that the guy would have been less compelled to drive while intoxicated if he was an american?]

no, that's what you think the sentiment was-

[What if the tables were turned and it was an american drunk-driver killing an illegal immigrant? You could say the same exact same thing, but perhaps it wouldnt taste so good then."]

Then the american, as a person who is required by law in most countries, to have a passport to be in the country whose laws he broke, and would have to be a responsible American, in another country, whose border he did not transgress.....

The issue, IS, for Americans, her illegals, just as it is for other nations who have lost sight of the importance of enforcing laws, instead of making bullshit human rights excuses....

["I hope i misunderstood what you were trying to say because if you are the type of person that would rather close himself off from the world and live in your happy little bubble rather than accept something as simple as diplomacy then im not sure how you found TAYtv in the first place"]

-you did...

diplomacy....that word, in the context of the statement referenced, has no meaning.....what did you mean????

So, now that everyone has flexed their knee-jerk observations, what IS the real issue concerning illegal immigrants?? Oh and yes, it is a shame some drunk, regardless of his race, creed, or color, was let behind the wheel, in this wonderful, tolerant, bring-in-all-comers, especially yer teeming refuse without proper papers, country!!!

i'll only answer to choggie's comparisons to other nations because the rest of the rhetoric kind of collapses on itself. needless to say, the comparisons and portrayals are not accurate.

let's start with china. two points here. the first, and most obvious, is that china is an autocratic, communist country. is that really what you are advocating for in the united states, choggie? the second is that "china" throughout its many dynasties has expanded and contracted. it was free to do so because it existed long before the concept of a nation-state was developed and "hard" borders were set.

regarding france. since i live here, i think i can answer to this. for the most part the problems you see in france have absolutely nothing to do with illegal immigrants. instead, the discontented muslim youths are the first generation of natural born french citizens. their parents came here in the 70's and 80's from northern africa, lured by the french government to help with the construction boom that was sweeping the nation. however, the muslims never really integrated within the french society. north africans stayed within their insular communities and home-schooled their children while white french people generally shunned them and let them live in the "cites" on the outskirts of the cities. now, unemployment is high and you have a large population of young people with nothing to do. that is the problem that france has, not illegal immigration.

uh-oh chogg... you may have just got serrrrrved!

anyhow, i was just gonna point out how funny it would be if every guest on o'reilly, instead of trying to have an actual discourse, just yelled ludicrous generalization back at him. I sure as hell would...

bill- "so you're saying you love terrorism and wish you're parent's were dead?!"

me- "NO, I'M SAYING you want to kill thousands of innocent civilians in other countries, because YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY A SATANIST!"

bill- "... NO, BUT WHAT I'M HEARING IS THAT you..."

ME- "...YOU'RE THE DEVIL BILL! YOU LOVE INNOCENT SOULS TO FEAST UPON!!.. IN YOUR HEDONISTIC LAIR!!! WHERE YOU SNORT CRUSHED PAIN PILLS AND MASTURBATE TO MILITARY TORTURE FILMS!!!!"

bill- "... cut his mic."

me- "...(flailing arms wildly, gesturing menacingly with fist)"

choggiesays...

thanks for shoving it up choggs' ass aaronfr.....Yeah that was a stretch with China....as for France... if the children of north African muslims are a barometer for the brilliant idea to bring in cheap labor, then to have required them to become French citizens through a process that would make them proud, thankful, and energetic to become French, would have gone a long way to alleviate the stress of a nation now diluting the culture. Here in the U.S., brilliant thinking and lack of legislation and enforcement of existing laws, has brought the same dilution to America, who used to have a singularly unique culture, of immigrants who were excited to be American, rather than excited to be IN America, but not having to "become" American, with a sense of pride and nationalism.....

Most folks in the US, have enough cultural awareness to know, that letting Mexico osmose into America, is a pathetic trade-off economically, etc. Most Hispanics in this country that have naturalized through proper channels, are livid about the influx.....Come to America, retain your culture and heritage, yet become American, not Mexican-American

Learn the Language
Pay into the System
Build assets, and invest here.
Being American must be a pathetic prospect for most of the world and who can blame them....??

[however, the muslims never really integrated within the french society.]

Is this not a symptom of the same type of scenario?? Muslims have been a non-integrating element in England as well haven't they?? The fact that they were given citizenship for indentured labor doesn't really matter, they still never became French, in the true sense...(are not the French sticklers for preserving the language and culture?...they used to be)
Canadians do not let the children born on their soil, automatically become citizens....they saw Chinese doing it, and nuked that shit!!
No nation, if they want to remain a nation, should do this.
Wish we'd used a similar model, but powers have other things in store, for a once great Nation.
France was a once great nation, but they have been bitched slapped from without and within for so long, well,......the 3 countries that provided Iraq with most of their sheit, Nuclear power techs, WMD's (that, incidentally, were there and were moved), were France, Germany, and Russia.......

Why won't they be held accountable??? Because the bastards that are allowed to play games with humans, have governments by the short and curlies......

Eliminate hunger, educate evryone to get them up to speed with the 21st century, and get off the grid/teat by giving the cheap, and/or,free-energy technology that has existed
for decades, and watch a world change very drastically...
no war, no currency, no shit.

I only registered to reply to Choggie and his obvious hatred for anyone other than "Amurikins".

His last post gives people who read his vitriol hope that he'll come out of his obscured world-view. I do have hope but I doubt the clouds will part.

Now to respond to his rants about GR and BO (body odor?) in particular:
We can put forth all sorts of "What if?" scenarios and none would ever satisfy Choggie because he's feels illegal immigration is tantamount to starting WWIII.
From that basis of his position we get wonderful nuggets of truth about "bastards" having "...governments by the short an curlies..."

For BO there is no right answer than deport anyone who isn't here legally with verifiable proof (birth certificate, green card, visa...) whereas for GR, yes enforcement is an appropriate response to illegal immigration but said enforcement is not the solution to drunk driving. Which is what BO missed and will continue to miss while he sees his base "talking points" flashing before his eyes.

We have a unique country in the US of A. One that was understood to be built and supported by the masses who came here looking for a better opportunity. Our environment of accepting all who appeared at our doorstep and agreed to a few requirements to become citizens did so in great numbers and fervor.

There were growing pains as a result of conflicting groups vying for position and power in their respective communities but somewhere along the line we (read: Choggie) lost sight of the fact that we ourselves wouldn't be here if those (read: his) ideas were in place when their ancestors arrived.

In the particular case of illegal immigration and the obvious position of BO, he uses illegals as a level to further the entrenchment of our administrative branch into our daily lives. Choggie is right that there are enough laws on the books to prosecute & punnish illegals however there has always been a lack of funds provided when any new laws are passed which BO never attempts to justify. He'd rather browbeat GR and call him names than discuss that particular subject.

Enfocement of immigration laws COULD have prevented this particular individual from being involved in what is a tragic incident but vsmac is right: Correlation does not imply causation.

Any by attempting to prove such a falsehood at best only puts you this much *holds fingers milimeters apart* above BO in this debate but at worst leaves you looking bigoted and prejudiced: exactly like BO has always appeared.

I'm all for enforcement of our laws and rules within this country. Lord knows proper enforcement would have eliminated a LOT of socio-political hand-wringing over the past 7-10 years but until we have people in office who are willing to step out and do more than campaign to get re-elected every 4-6 years we're going to continue walking this diabolical machine across the global landscape - tearing up the grass and shitting in the yard.

Sorry for the rant.

WOW! Oreily is possibly the most ignorant person I have ever seen in Media, and Geraldo isnt much better. It was a drunk driver, DEAL WITH THAT FIRST! Then deal with him being an Illegal. So many people die every 1 second due to car accidents, and how many of those are due to drunkeness? ALOT! Most of those arent Illegal Aliens. I Made the drive back fromo Tempe AZ to Texas, and there was Border Patrol all over, look, they try to get here because its a better place to live. It happens, all the time in Chechnya and places where there is constant fighting, most of them are political refugees.

What we need to do is try and make it easier for them to stand up and cross the border and learn to be a US citezen and not be Illegals. So when stupid balltied people like Oreily get ahold of some dumbassed unthought through bullshit about immigration they need to think about where they came from. My great grand parents came from Ireland, and Scotland, I think they to had to become a US citezen the hard way. So really they need to stop being so stupid about Illegal Immingrants, because its not going to solve anything by arguing about it.

The Statue of Liberty, a beacon to the downtrodden, the huddled masses, the people who jump fences and drive drunk in our country when they're not supposed to be here. Marvelous.
