At a local news station in Arcata, California a dog senses an earthquake before anyone else.

the guy moves at pretty much the same time as the dog. you can only see his chair swivel behind the pole at first. so unless he reacted to the dog running off, there was probably a loud noise both of them heard.

We have earthquakes commonly in Alaska. One morning in 4th or 5th grade, my mom woke me up and I told her, "we're going to have an earthquake", and walking to the garage to get in the car a few minutes later it hit.

Never could explain that. I have thought maybe we had an EQ when I was sleeping, and it stuck in my brain.

If you time the last part with the different view, it's about 5 seconds from when you can see the glass shaking until the first big shock... this is about the same time as the dogs reaction in the starting portion. I think it's just that the earthquake isn't noticable in the first part.

Most Earthquakes we get here can't even be noticed if you are walking around.

Wow. news
What is all that falling down? Dust?

Looked like the sprinkler system got triggered for some reason...

That's what I thought too, but then I saw what looked like a sheet of water go down the front of the camera lense. Still can't figure out why it would go off though, no fire.
