Angry Guy on Hell's Kitchen Wants to Fight Gordon Ramsay

Joseph vs Gordon - Part 1
Apparently, Joseph thinks that to become an executive chef he has to beat the shit out of Gordon Ramsay in the parking lot.

[Edit]
Ahh my guilty reality show pleasure is Hell's Kitchen because it makes me feel better about screwing up food. I also kind of enjoy watching the chefs get it when they screw up (probably because I used to be a waiter)

I can't handle this show. We're supposed to believe these incompetent meatheads are worthy of competing to run one of Ramsey's restaurants? I'll stick to Top Chef.

It's probably all scripted, but honestly Ramsay was acting like a jackass pure and simple while the rest of the crew were blatantly sucking up to him.

to be fair, the guy didnt want to embarress the others by naming and shaming. Seems pretty honerable to me. He ended up looking like an idiot because gordon decided to fly off the handle, as usual.

i actually like gordon when hes not doing his simon-cowell impression (i.e: being a dick knowingly for the drama). Out of his own shows he seems ok. On his shows, hes a total twat.

yeah gordon is a completely different guy outside of the show, he seems like he's got a good sense of humor and everything, very personable. everyone should youtube search "gordon ramsey fast food" and watch some of the clips to see the real, UNSCRIPTED gordon ramsey.

be sure to watch the shorter ones (2-3 minutes) because those are the best and most inspiring

I don't see why you have to assume that this confrontation was scripted. Gordon Ramsay uses harsh language and rough methods because they lead to results fast, which is what his shows are usually about. There's a line of teaching in school which uses the same model of tearing down before building up; where kids' own ego usually stops them from effectively getting anything into their heads, and need them to be pulled down from the clouds before they'll even consider not being all-knowing and always being right.
In this regard, these chefs are pretty similar. They run failing businesses and most of the time they're the ones who aren't doing their jobs properly, and while you might not like Ramsay's attitude or his disrespectful behaviour, he does get drastic results fast. Really, sometimes all a person needs is a good talking to. Especially when they somehow expect to be specially treated without having done anything to deserve it.
Like in this case, where the chef went way over the line. From my point of view, he should be the object of our scorn instead of Ramsay. He knew what to expect from this show when he signed up for it, if not by previous episodes or television stuff Ramsay has done, then from what the producers explained before filming started. He was the one who came there for help, and he was the one who specifically asked Ramsay to help him. Being able to take criticism is paramount, and he seemed to have failed quite readily in that regard.

Meh, i think after the initial "Are you an idiot, I'm speaking plain english" confrontation we all knew that he just wanted a simple question answered. Anyone who watches the show knows this is how it goes. Also, he was pissed because they had to shut down the kitchen and give everyone a free shrimp cocktail.

Oh noes! Teh dramah!
I'd actually pay money to see Gordon Ramsey get his ass kicked...
WTF is an executive chef anyway?

An executive chef is the head chef essentially. At most restaurants, the exec chef is responsible not only for meal preparation, but for keeping things running smoothly, adding new dishes to the menu, and the hiring and firing of other people. He organizes and cooks and needs to be good at both.

Gordon: Hello everyone...

ZING!

I'd like to start by...

DRAMATIC CHORD

Offering you a drink before we get started.

OMINOUS BOOM

Would anyone like...

CYMBALS CRASH

Some diet cola?

WAIL OF THE DAMNED

Shepppardsays...

it's just a straight forward question, if I were in ramsays shoes, i'd be pissed off, too.

"First nominee and why" should be followed up by "Tony, because: (He did a retarded job in the kitchen and fucked up dish X)" Rather than "Tony, he knows why."

spoco2says...

If not scripted, (and I'm going to say it's not, they just pick people who will arc up like this to be on it) then I am in Ramsay's court here.

He asked a pretty simple question, got a series of stupid answers.

Plus, if you don't know what GR is like by now, you shouldn't go on a show like this and not expect to be sworn at.

Also... Gordon showed me (by way of the sift) how to make damn, DAMN fine scrambled eggs which everyone in my family now raves about... so yay for him

So did he get his ass kicked or what? I'm sure it was a typical reality show intense buildup, then you come back from the commercials and it was a weak resolution. That guy probably walked away.
