No he didn't, he put the train "In Emergency". Which is what he was supposed to do. I'm sure he stopped to make sure the boy wasn't injured. Everything the engineer does is recorded for his road foreman to pour over later if there's a problem.

^ from what I understand from my husband, he's a train master ( and former engineer himself).. the guys aren't as upset over idiots killing themselves. The men are ruined if it's a child though. Those are the tough ones. Some quit after accidentally killing a child. There's so many homes w/ back yards on tracks. Horrible.
