Criminals For Gun Control

Violent criminals advocate stronger gun laws to foster a safer work environment and limit their exposure to risk. Second posting. After nearly 250,000 views an unfounded privacy violation complaint led to the video being removed. Well, here it is again. Copyright 2007 Antiprise Records. The biggest problem I have with this "argument" against gun control: If I'm to be truly safe. The *only* way for me to protect myself and my family, is to own, operate and be prepared to murder someone with a gun. I'm not cool with that. Sorry. I don't like guns and would prefer not to have to have them around as my only source of protection. I believe shooting people is wrong.

There is some truth in this, but I suspect it might be only partly true. Some criminals will always be able to get guns, no matter how tightly controlled they are for the general populace. What about the more casual criminal though, who lacks the connections? At present, in the U.S., he can easily buy one even without criminal connections. I just don't see how changing that would be a bad thing.

You can ban guns all you want. The criminals will still have them and the citizens won't.

It's like drugs -- you can stop it from being.

It's hilarious (in a laugh-to-not-cry way) how gun advocates (and right-wingers in general) box humans in two opposing categories: on one side, the "criminals", all'round baddies hell-bent on robbing, raping and killing the other side, the "law'biding citizens", who only want to protect their family and property (or only the latter).

The fact that a large percentage of gun death/violence happens within that second category (especially against women relations) doesn't seem to fit in their nice little dichotomy, so they ignore it completely.

There are no legitimately black or white, or inherently, simplistically and undeniably true arguments. There's always more points, situations, options and angles to consider.

This video only focuses on a couple of points from very select angles (like all video's on this subject do), but it does make those limited points clearly and refreshingly from ironically different perspective.
