I don't know much about 3D printing, but couldn't the printer just pick up where it left off when the power comes back on?

Might have a weakness and division line where the now cold plastic met the hot plastic--and the processors aren't usually that smart; they start at line one and read through---can't pick up mid-project.

some printer firmware actually do have power loss resumption.
