Introduction
VideoSift is a website that allows its members to submit interesting videos
from around the web. Many video hosting sites provide a feature to "embed"
their videos in other sites. This page gives instruction on submitting videos
to VideoSift from all video sources currently compatible with our site. At
this time, we only allow submissions from these sites, unless you
are a Bronze Diamond member or above,
in which case you may submit videos from anywhere.
-
Google VideoNot all Google videos support embedding, but you can find out if the one that you want to add does. Click on the "share this video" button, and then on the embed html link that will appear under it, highlight all of the text and paste it into the "Video Embed Code" box on the VideoSift submission page. Give your submission a title and some tags and you are ready to go.
-

Paste this text into the "Video Embed Code" text box on the VideoSift submission page. Give your submission a title and relevant tags and you are ready to go.

Yahoo! VideoIn order to post a video from Yahoo, you must first make sure that it is actually a Yahoo video, as not all videos on the Yahoo Video Search are actually hosted there. Once you have found a Yahoo hosted video, it is still possible that it is not a video that supports embedding. If it does support embedding you will see a box below the video that says "add to my site". Copy all of the text in that box and paste it into the "Video Embed Code" box on the VideoSift submission page. Give it a title and some tags and you are ready to go.
-
VimeoClick the share button under the video and then highlight all of the text in the "Add This Clip to MySpace or Your Blog" box and then paste it into the "Video Embed Code" box on the VideoSift submission page. Create a title and relevant tags and select the continue button at the bottom of the VideoSift submit page.
-
iFilmDepending on what page you are on you will either see an embed button, or a field that says embed. If you are on the page with the button click it and a small pop up box will appear, copy all of the text and paste it into the "Video Embed Code" box on the VideoSift submission page. Give it a title and some tags and you are ready to go. If you are on the page with the field labeled "embed", copy all of the text in that field instead.
Note: iFilm can be sort of tricky about letting you copy all of the text so make sure you have about a paragraph worth or you probably missed some of it.
