The 80's classic The Last Strafighter with a recut movie trailer! A more modern trailer. Coming to theaters in 1984!

Was anyone else disappointed that they never made a Starfighter game, like the one in the movie? It was too detailed to make when the movie came out, but they could have made it 5 years later.

And Death Blossom...still to this day the best spaceship fighting move ever!

I'm surprised there hasn't been an updated/reboot of the movie.

While you probably wouldn't use an arcade machine, an online PC game that uses a HOTAS... and perhaps Oculus Rift could be the testing ground. Say something like Elite: Dangerous or Star Citizen. You don't have the kid get into a stranger's car, did Alex never learn "stranger danger" lol. It could actually build into a franchise if you handle it properly...

No, I think for it to be realistic, it just needs to be a free download on Playstation or xbox. Something kids can stumble upon.
If you start making it so they are using expensive equipment, that takes the point away, that "anyone" could be that pilot with the skills to fly one of those ships. Put it out there and see who thrives.
