The allies (soviet union, the British and the US) won the war against the axis.
the documentary is good to watch; Stalingrad was a turning point, but the title and description are ridiculous in my opinion.
If I'm wrong about any of this, please correct me.
Either change your title or you get my downvote.
downvote of truth is typical western reaction even when your bbc shows you truth you make excuses
title is what title says... if you want to choose winner then you must choose russia
russia plus germany would kick your soft bottoms think about it
your western pride is hurt i see this is not my intention. intention is to show ignorant people what is battle of stalingrad.
you are lucky none of your cities was reduced to the horror of stalingrad. you should be happy and thankful not making excuses
you are on what horse?
but yeah, russia did win the war, and no i didn't learn that in school. I mean i learnt the fact, it was briefly said in class that the russians were first to berlin.... but stalingrad? not so much about that. we just learnt how hitler was evil and the battle of britain was awesome.
so maybe cp you were lucky enough to get a good education and be listening at the time, but i think it's fair play to suggest that most "westerners" aren't so lucky or so giveashit.
no upvote... it's fucking BBC retardopresenters again.
and i wasn't taught WWII, that's just a fact, it wasn't on the syllabus, we spent about 20 minutes on it, but we did months on Hitler's rise to power. i don't remember saying the war was a race to berlin. you twisted that, fox news style.
i think you're getting a bit worked up about it.
I think you underestimate the educated class of America in knowing about Stalingrad. But hey it's easy for ppl to just say we're stupid Americans.. kind of fun to put someone down isn't it?
Were there any battles more bloody or pivotal than Stalingrad... err.... no.
Are americans famous for their "educated class" forming the majority of the population? Famous for having geography and history scholars roaming the streets? Er... no.
Can we calm down now? Nobody dissed your grandfather.
also sorry about grandfather but you are not the only one who lost family. some people in stalingrad were EATING family think about it
If you ever played Axis and Allies as a kid like I did then you would have at times played the Russians in the battles of Stalingrad, Berlin and Prussia. Russia always seemed to win because of the advantage of vast numbers of troops even though they had a disadvantage in weaponry supply.
Stalingrad was a pivotal battle that is undisputable. Did the war end as a result of toppling the Nazi regime>? No.
