Fine. I'll say it. Halo is the worst game ever made. I played only the first but it sucked so bad I dare not play the others. All it was is identical hallway after identical hallway after identical hallway. Fuck you, XBOX "gamers".

I will contend that Halo is not the ambrosia of all FPS, nor is it a shining example of what an FPS should be, however, I am a large Halo fan. I have all the games for the sole purpose of furthering my knowledge of the storyline. For the same reason I own all of the novels (except for the new one which is entirely about Sgt. Johnson) because I find most of them quite well written and filled with interesting plots, sub-plots and character development.

I could say that my interest in reading the novels has only increased my interest in the franchise, although I must point out that I would sincerely love it even more if it simply ends the story with the end of Halo 3. Any more backstory novels would still be appreciated though.

Oh yes, and upvote for "No change there then, hah, hah, hah, raucous laughter."

There is no such thing as a good console FPS. The mouse is absolutely necessary to make decent FPS controls. A 5th percentile player with a mouse beats a 95th percentile player without a mouse.

Even my 15 year old nephew agrees that Halo is over rated and really not all that good. I ask him 'then why the hell do you play it?' and his reply is simply

'Cause theres nothing better on the xbox360 right now.'

SO I bought him a copy Orange Box PC for his birth-day.

Needless to say he hasn't played Halo 3 since.

Halo is a great multiplayer game. It's not really a good singleplayer game. The Marathon Series were much better in my view.

This is where Yahtzee is wrong, because he refuses to play multiplayer games in general.
