I still don't get why they walked off. What were they pissed about?

I don't get why they walked off either... but I think it makes it much more funny that way.

Wow! I've never seen this before, very fun to watch the aggravation build. Clive just kept needling them - and you could see the smiles slip more and more quickly after each jab.

I love Clive. Relentless.
You could spend decades taking the piss with Barry Gibb.

Clive was needling them, but also clearly lauding them. Apparently, the final straw was a pun he made about "forgetting" some song of Barry's about "remembering." Amazing that those guys have no sense of thier own silliness.

I can't just leave a mystery like this alone. So I googled around. I found a transcript of an interview from Maurice Gibb (the one on the far right) commenting about it. Here's the link:
http://www.napathon.net/CliveAnderson.php

But to be honest, after reading the link, I still don't understand any more what the big deal was. Are they really that sensitive and incapable of a taking a few jokes?

Anderson's face when he realised they were actually leaving is priceless.

Needling is one thing, but having someone on your show and just trashing every aspect of their music is another thing. I'm no big fan, but I'm sure they didn't come on expecting to be the but of every joke. It is a talk show. You would not see a Letterman of Leno have a group on and just knock everything they did... well, with the exception of Mili Vinili or Vanella Ice (or however they spell it); certainly not the Bee Gee's.
