Woman Attacks Husbands Cars With Golf Clubs

... and hits child while she is in her rage...

Looks sadly familiar...out-of-control rage is not a terribly uncommon behavior among bipolar sufferers.

And dropping her with one punch sounds oh so tough, but if you didn't notice, she's got a golf club. The smart thing to do is stay back and let the cops deal with it. If you "drop" her, guess who gets charged with assault?

honkeytonk73says...

bipolar possibly. potentially an alcoholic as well. jail or prosecution isn't going to help. she needs serious psychiatric intervention. The only thing that comes to mind is 'sad'. The child(ren) are caught in the middle.. a child yelled 'stop'.

maybe seeing herself in this video will help snap her into getting treatment.

So instead of dealing with her problems and emotions maturely, she decides to resort to a symbolic act of destroying personal property. Nice.

And this isn't bi-polar disorder. Hyper-emotional POS syndrome, maybe, but bi-polar? No.

Ok, I can understand not wanting to intervene directly stopping her but allowing her to continue after trying to hit one kid with a golf club and successfully hitting another? If I either guy with the kid or the guy with the camera I'd have put the kid (or camera) down and then put her down to wait for the cops.

Stormsingersays...

I didn't see her hit a kid, and I watched it twice (once just now to see if I missed it). I heard the cameraman say she did...but that's not the same. Even if she did, the rampage was over by then, hitting her would have served no purpose but to make things worse for everyone.

A group of people like those 3 (2 men, 1 woman) have the power to defuse things pretty effectively. A person by themselves is much less likely to go against a group, particularly if they're trying to mediate.

If they make clear early on that they're not going to let her damage property, that can help limit her will to escalate things.

Life rewards being proactive.

my ex-wife tried to have me arrested for throwing shit. the cop said since we're married, he couldn't arrest me for destroying what was technically my own property.

Do us all a favor, put down that "Danny Tanner's Guide to Conflict Resolution" and step outside every once in a while.

Really this guy did a great job not meeting her anger with his own. I would've been more proactive about getting the children away from the situation and either getting her out of there, or getting the police over ASAP, because I know I can't stay calm forever.

laurasays...

If she genuinely thought the guy was an asshole she wouldn't have driven away w/o her kids. She was hurt and definitely inappropriately expressing it.

Stormsingersays...

^ Gotta agree with Rottenseed here.

Staying calm in a situation like this is damned hard. Losing your cool and screaming back (or worse) isn't going to help, and can easily make things worse. This guy did a great job of staying calm, and trying to avoid escalation.

> this isn't bi-polar disorder

Cant be sure of that. I've seen bipolar disorder in its full glory. This can fit for sure.

I'd bet $$$ this chick parties too much, eats too many prescribed pharmaceuticals every day, and has split her personality solidly into two people - the unmedicated crazy Mrs. Hyde seen here, and a drugged up but calmer Mrs. Jekyll. Maybe she had kids too young and "lost" her youth. Maybe her husband there is a total P.O.S. too.
