That's really cool to hear how a lot of these people were influenced by Monty Python. I guess it's something I took for granted since it was always there. Much like this generation of children will take the internet for granted
Ah yes, Jay says what's very true for me. Monty Python changed comedy and the Beatles changed music.
They are two HUGE influences on me growing up... With Monty Python it was never actually so much the Flying Circus, never really watched it. (Now when I do I see a lot of it was actually pretty average, it's only when you distill down the best bits that it seems like gold). It was the Python movies that I watched over and over as a kid. Life of Brian, the Meaning of Life, And Now for Something Completely Different.
I love Monty Python, but the next witless fuck who quotes me some of it in a "oh look how clever and Mensa I am" tone is gonna make me go off and break John Cleese's knees with a lead pipe.
Python is like some secret society of nerds. Meet someone new you spout off something random like "I will not buy this record, it is scratched." Either they think you're strange or they reply back "Would you like to go back to my place bouncy bouncy?" and immediatly you have something you can talk about and enjoy.

And, well, Fawlty Towers (not Python directly, obviously)...
It's funny that it's my mother who is British, but my father who I get all these influences from.
Probably the reason your dad loved python/cleese so much is also the reason why he married a brit, so probably a reasonable connection.
Jimmy Fallon "Comedian".
I was going to disagree with you, but then I realized Mango was Chris Kattan, not Fallon.
You're right, Fallon's a dud.
MP is responsible, in large part, for the person I am today....and I demand accountability!
Nudge nudge, wink wink. Say no more!
And now, for something completely different:
