My god, here it is: The Star Wars Holiday Special (1h:56m)
This is the epitome of cliffhanger endings. Everything about this part is fantastic. The action that led up to it. Luke finding out Darth Vader is his father, Han being encased in carbonite, the rebel base being forced to be on the run in space. Not to mention the music at this part, John Williams sets the mood perfectly. So I ask you, what were you thinking when you first watched this scene?

I've seen it a hundred times and it still gives me the chills. I love that movie.

I remember being shocked, bewildered and unsure of my sexuality.

Haha, that might have been Lucas' goal knowing what we could expect for The Return of the Jedi. For every man who questioned his sexuality need only see Princess Leia in the Golden Bikini to be completely reassured.

I watched this movie way too much as a kid. It's just so good.

I was -2 years old when this movie came out, so unfortunately my first exposure to it was in bits and pieces on TV and through various pop-culture references. Before I had ever seen the movie or even really knew what Star Wars was, I knew that Vader was Luke's father, and had a general impression of the rest of the movies.

It's a shame, I think. I feel like I missed out on something!

when i first saw this sequence, i felt like a cat that had just settled down to lay in a sunbeam only to feel the sun disappear behind clouds, leaving me with just a bit of a chill. A chill that wouldn't abate until the death star was destroyed and justice was restored to the Republic.

I hate to inform you, but I'm told that the Fireweed is now probably the shittiest theater in town.

Sorry, dag.
