The Oompa-Loompas sing about chewing gum in this scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory directed by Tim Burton in 2005.

I may be in the minority here, but I thought this movie was absolutely horrible. I'm a Depp fan, but all I could do was cringe at his performance while watching this movie. The original, with Gene Wilder, was SO much better.

Cloned Oompa Loompas wearing Matrix jumpsuits and "rapping."
Depp a creepy pedophile.
Charmless.

How did this possibly need to be re-made... Whats next, Wizard of Oz with Nicole Kidman as Dorothy?

I agree with you, Fletch. I understand that while the original movie didn't quite keep true to the book in certain regards, at least it kept with the fun-loving theme. Burton's version did not. Here are some comparisons:
