The VCR made all of these things possible so in a way they are all in there. You might as well think of it that way. The fight to use VCR and time shifting was not bloodless. Even Mr. Rogers had to go before congress to stand up for us to say that if moms recorded his show it would benefit everyone and would not enable stealing from anyone. So now we have all kinds of similar devices because if the VCR failed to defend itself, we certainly wouldn't have ipods or anything related.
