Not a bad list. Though I'd have to say that #3 is the greatest fight scene ever. I really love Jackie Chan. I love that, even though everything is choreographed, it's still always just the actors and their props. No trick photography, no wires, and no animation. On top of that, his fight scenes contain their own plots and humor and all sorts of other little details. If you know his history too, you come to appreciate the scenes based on his relationships with the people involved and the way he grew up.

He was also a big role model to me based on the fact that a lot of his scenes are just really creative ways to run away or avoid actually fighting.

Anyway...

Oh, yeah... and this wouldn't work in a real street fight.

I really love the stunts in those old golden harvest films.

And it should go without saying that Yuen Bieu is fantastic. His acrobatics make a nice addition to Jackie's style.

He's right about Dragon Lord (#2 in the list). It's not one of Jackie's best, but the stunts make it worth it.

I would have put in the fight scene from Armour of God when he is trying to escape from the monks' monastery. The stunt where he kicks an apple at a bad guy (and the resulting flip) is great..

In this vid (and the 10 stunts one) he shows the stunt where "Jackie" half-backward rolls down ladders on a ship and kicks a guy.. only jackie had a back injury on the day, so didn't do it himself (you'll see it in this vid at 17 seconds in.)

I think his stunt team deserve a lot of credit as well.

Actually when I think about it this is a good candidate for *skillful. Plenty of real skill on display and not blunted by quick cutaways.

First Chan movie I ever saw had #5 from this list. Have been a fan ever since. I don't watch martial arts movies, but I'll watch Jackie.
