They like the heat inside the printer. Those look like cocoons, not eggs. Just leave the printer (opened) outside for a few days and they will leave.

And all your working printers are belong to me.

Considering how short a lifespan HP printers have, it's nice to know there are other uses for them.

Ants cause printer problems? And I thought mine was due to printing too many images with flesh tones.

It's too bad he didn't ask you, because he just threw away the printer.

Because I never saw it before? This was a good one. I saw one that had a copy machine with ants under the glass. It was on Putfile.com, but I never found a replacement to post here.

Man, I had ants in my espresso machine once. I left it with a friend, and when I came back it was full of 'em. The cute little bastards ruined the thing.

Ant was the first one to suggest it, but yeah, his idea is 100% correct. Happened to my printer, too (yes, HP as well, ha ha); left it outside for a day, making sure it would have sunlight shining on it (ants hate it) and woila! It was bug-free and no printing problems since then to speak of. Now if the actual ant-infestation in that apartment would have been anywhere near as easy to take care of...

"I am now..going to throw this printer away..."

Surely he meant "douse it in a flammable liquid and set fire to it", or have I just not got to that Sift yet?
