Haha, but look at the cats eyes. At 0:18 they seem to scream "Kill me, kill me now!"
She's an ill tempered cat so I was amazed she had the sense not to hurt a baby.
Upvote for how big the cat's eyes got when the kid started bouncing near the beginning...
She was a Maine Coon, but the runt of her litter. She grew to an astonishing length (maybe 2.5ft) and weight(~18lbs). She was the sweetest cat. She would purr so loud you could hear it across a room. My parents got her when I was 2, after our first cat died from leukemia.
The vet called us and said he had an extra sweet cat, unfortunately my sisters answered the phone when he called so my mom did not have a way out. She called my dad hoping he would say no.
But I got on the phone and said something like, "Daddy, I named her Zuzu". And it was over. She lived 23 years despite having diabetes, a consequence of her old age. Towards the end of her life my father would give her insulin shots in the morning and evening every day.
Not a day goes by that I am not thankful to have known her.

That's amazing. Didn't know cats could live that long.
Animals are not dumb, they're just frightfully uneducated.
Had a neighbor whose little girl used to carry a cat around and for a while I thought it was a stuffed toy. Many animals are like that.
It's said that a horse will not buck if a pregnant woman is on its back.
"ha ha! ..laugh it up little pig child...
.. .. .. ..I see toxoplasmosis in your dim future."
^I thought cats were a health risk around babies? Some kinda biochemical about cats..
Myth.
I had a big orange cat that I used to cuddle with like a big ol' pillow.
I too used to have a cat I could use as a pillow. His name was Alex, and he died fairly young from Feline Leukemia; which he probably contracted from being an outdoor cat in a semi-big city: Lansing, Michigan. When I moved to Phoenix I couldn't really take him with and gave him to my g/f's parents to take care of. They're part of a big family and often host for holidays. They told us that he would come home during gatherings and seek out the little'uns to 'play' with (be played with).
After he died we got another cat, and she's almost as sweet as Alex was. I think what T.V. shows like The Dog Whisperer and It's Me or the Dog show us about dogs is also true for cats, if to a lesser extent. The personality of the pet is dependent on the owner.
Animals take their cues from the same, more subtle, signals that babies learn from. Not language but rather inflection, body language, and smell (chemicals). My guess as to why cats treat babies as nicely as they do is that they know the baby means no harm. A stressed out adult on the other hand...
