X would start with the first lawyer that contacted X-Stop there? Fuck no-that Hotel of Horror would sustain some major damage....X would see to it, other similar assets that had anything to do with audits or training, met with a similar fate-X would only stop, when X's lust for retribution, began to interfere with X's freedom to do whatsoever X wilt....
Scientology better hope they never fuck with X...lawyers and mind-fucks are invitations to parties for X.....May even end the whole game with a personal visit to Mr. Risky Business itself.....
Now THAT"S deprogramming!
Aside from that, pretty scary that not just people can go schizo but entire organizations can.
Scientology is a cult, and a dangerous one. That is no lie.
NEWSFLASH: ALL RELIGIONS ARE CULTS !
acceptance of a religion from the masses is the only difference between a religion being a cult or not.
CULT http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cult
Now, you can say that any religion has the ability to be as dangerous as Scientology, and in a number of ways religions like Catholicism have indeed killed people for going against faith and their beliefs.
However, most 'normal' people who follow one of the mainstream religions will not drain the life savings of someone for the church, will not kill someone who tries to leave the church, will not disallow interaction with anyone not of the church...
The issue with Scientology over other religions is that truly is just a money making machine, and does a ridiculously good job of that. And it does its best to stop people harming their money making ability.
The good thing about Scientology is that most people can see that it's a bit barmy, and insane, but you can use that against other religions with like for like comparisons.
"So, you think it's ridiculous to believe in space aliens no-one believes just because some guy wrote a book saying they exist?"
"Yeah, that's just nots"
"Why is it any more nuts to believe that over the existence of God just because a few guys wrote a book saying that he exists?"

Hmmm. Doesn't sound like any "normal" 24 year old I know, thankfully.
I don't get why we have such a stigma over the word "cult." I've never been able to get anyone to explain to me why being a cult is so terrible. Most people associate cults with religions that have strange rituals and may ask you to do things that are outside of normal human behavior that would be dangerous. That's just not what cult means, though. Most definitions give a very relative explanation of cults (such as "strange beliefs"), but I have yet to find one that gives a negative description. Sorry, small rant there.
Anyway, other than that I'm normally quite opposed to attacking someone else's beliefs, but I appreciate how this video didn't attack anyone's beliefs, but instead the alleged actions of the church/members. As heinous as the allegations are, why hasn't this made more noise before now?
PS: it's very strange that a church can't get non-profit status w/o infiltrating the IRS. Highly suspect.

- Was a normal, happy 24 year old student
- Joined the Church of Scientology
- 8 months later he was dead
I could totally see Fox News do the same thing with a terrorist
- He was a normal, happy person living in Iraq back in 2001 with a gumdrop smile and loving life
- Then Al-qaeda ABDUCTED him and brainwashed him into thinking USA was somehow dangerous, when it was ACTUALLY PROTECTING the WORLD
- 8 months later he was DEAD
... Next we have Celebrity Beach Volley in the Buff, and our newest sit-com "2 and a half men in Paris" featuring Paris Hilton.
(In all seriousness the viddie is a harrowing tale of Scientology, which by all rights should have been expunged from our society a long time ago.. like most religions should.)
A group funded by its members killing those same members. I don't see the problem. The people who are "killed" are contributing their own money to propagate those actions. Ignorance is no defense. Good riddance.
Aemaeth, do some digging about modern cults. They are hard to define, but the dangerous ones typically separate people from their friends and families, and indoctrinate them into groupthink so deeply that they lose all touch with reality. It can lead to some really horrible things.
It is, on the other hand, heartening to witness the growth in the popularity of humanist and reasoned thought that we see emerging of late. Religion has gotten a "free ride" for far too long, and I for one am thankful to see it being viewed in a more critical light.
Many of us are looking for answers to deep questions....religionists are legion who will provide you with the "truth" that you seek. This "truth" amounts to belief....faith as they proudly call it. More often it is only lies, fervently perpetuated as "truth" under the guise of faith.
Guard yourself against this "truth". At the very least your sanity is at stake.
Best regards.

i.e., a cult is just a small insular religion that's different from popular religions. All religions are false.
Cult (n) a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.
i.e., a cult is just a small insular religion that's different from popular religions. All religions are false.
Doesn't this definition allow most religion to be classified as a cult if you have the correct viewpoint? I.e. all religion is considered to be false by someone. Ask an atheist if you need confirmation on that, so move on to the next point. A cult then needs to exist outside of conventional society. Conventional society is a difficult term to explain because I'm sure most of us would believe Tom Cruise is living in society (though often times it seems like he isn't living on this planet) and yet even Christ suggested his followers existed contrary to society. Finally, you need a charismatic leader then. Again, charisma (like beauty) is in the eye of the beholder.
Anyway, even by following this definition I would question what is wrong with being a cult. Generally people will agree they are bad, but I've never heard a reason why being a cult is bad.
