this program is stupid and not very informing/
if you read up about it all it is is musculer controle with nothing exstrodinary hapaning. the movements before hand likly alow more oxigenated blode into aireas of the body alowing for extra strength to be achived. as for the stabing with trident that folows the same prinicapals as the bed of nails by having the stumch mucels acomidate the shape of the trident it is posable to distrabute the force and balence on it without it pearcing the skin. the spears into the neck move is achived due to the thought having quite reseleant cartalage and then though movment distrabuting the force into the bambo cain that suports the spear.

all these things do require skill to ahive to the level these people are doing it but its nothing amazing and i think its a shame that alot of people are deluded in thinking that higher forces are at work

Could you please tell me where did you read all that information? I would like to know the explanation of the two finger and one finger zen.

i used my common sence. but i have seen a number of programs on this subject and it dose seem that evan though the words the monks use are difrent thay esentualy just describe the movment of oxigen around the body. its pritty cool how thay had this long before a scintific understanding of the body exsited.

Well I don't think this part of the documentary was ment to tell you how it was achieved. Thats handled a bit later. This section is just to show how much training is required and the level of dedication that these monks have.

I don't know if Westy is right, but what I know is....

The way they achieve all this is for training for years and years, constant training such as (backflips on the head, standing on the head and so on) this builds up bone in your head, or hands becaause as the old bone is worn away stronger bone is built. At the same time skin cells around those areas deaden and harden, this allows you power to break stuff with your head. Exaplined at 3:00.

When I trained at Shaolin, they said it took about a month to do the spear thing (bending the spear with your neck). They're not sharp, by the way, but you do need to build up something like a callus on the throat.

But yeah, most of that Qi Gong stuff is nonsense, just cheap parlor tricks for a gullible audience, and "documentaries" like this don't do anything to help. Some of it is very impressive though.

When they put on a performance at the school I was at for the parents, they had a guy suck a bowl against his stomach, and 5 people couldn't pull it off. So they called on me, the biggest person in the room (I'm 6'6", 275 pounds) and grabbed onto the guy who was going to try to pull the bowl off. I yanked so hard I threw the guy about 15 feet across the stage, and the bowl was torn in half -- the other half was still stuck to his stomach, which was still pretty damn cool.
