The anti-intellectual economic politics of Superman exposed. Also, possibly a stretch. Though, his comment on the tuxedo is a damn valid one! He brings up Zizek a lot. He's talking about this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavoj_Žižek

Fascinating clip.

This animation is bloody fantastic. Some of the finest work that's ever been done for television. When Superman zooms up from street level, there is a dizzying camera move that conveys height really, really well. When he bursts through the wooden door at the end, the wood splinters with painstaking detail. Love it. I have the whole series on DVD.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow drew heavily on this series for production design.
