Though it probably won’t be this season’s The Squid and the Whale, Answer Man does star Jeff Daniels in a similar role—an aging, despondent author. In this film, Daniels’ character wrote a book on spirituality that defined a generation (his era’s Andrew Weil), and has since become a recluse, avoiding those who would seek him out for answers on how to live life. With the spunky Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls fame, and a charming Lou Taylor Pucci (an indie actor who is quickly becoming ubiquitous), along with recent Nylon cover girls and It Actresses Kat Dennings and Olivia Thirlby, Answer Man has all the makings of an independent smash. -Dailybeast
