The 500 Pound superplex that destroyed the ring..

On June 12, 2003 one of the craziest moments in wrestling history occured when the Big Show was superplexed by Brock Lesnar...

This was so unexpected not even the announcers saw it coming...

It maybe fake, but still that's crazy to watch... also, how would this be considered gay? Last I checked, the Gay channel is for "discussing homosexuality and related issues."

Thank you Siftbot... for once you seem to be on my side... lol

I know that he didn't mean the homosexual gay and the term as you put it "Dude, that's so gay", however, I would have been a bit concerned and unhappy if the gay marker was placed on for the wrong reason... That's what I was angry about... the times in which *blank should just be used to make the proper corrections, and not in these type of senarios of personal opinion...

Also who cares if it is fake... its still great to watch a whole ring collapse like that...

conansays...

Wrestling is so laughable. I always wonder why the heck there are people out there who actually believe that what they see is real. Among the stupidest things on TV wrestling is clearly in the top 3.

Fake, fake and did I mention fake?

I used to watch wrestling, I admit it. When I was 9. Back then you had the original superheroes and villains like Big John Stud, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Rowdy Roddy and The Hulkster. It never got any better than when The Mouth of the South ran around the ring with his bullhorn....hahahha good times.

fdisksays...

Scripted, maybe. Assisted and cooperative, definitely. Fake action, I don't see how that could be. Either someone is taking physical punishment or you are claiming that wrestlers are extremely gifted in both acting and not harming each other while displaying large feats of strength. You can't throw that much mass around without either pain or skill.

MarineGunrocksays...

Actually, fdisk, I am claiming that. Well, not the acting part. Everyone knows the only acting worse than in porn is in a Pro wrestling ring. Wrestlers go through incredible amounts of training to know how to properly strike someone without causing harm. Falls are properly broken, and yes, all the action is scripted. The fights, the dialog, and even the outcome.
I know people that have gone to wrestling school.
Also, I have had many conversations, in person, with Tony Atlas about it. He lives in my town.
So anyone that says it's real is going to have an issue with me. Big time.

mas8705says...

wow... not to be rude but, this probably must be the reason why there hasn't been any wrestling clips up to this point on videosift and how after this video, there never will be another...

rembarsays...

When a training partner let me do it (an actual wrestler, not the pro-wrasslin' variety), I suplexed (pronounced suplay, the real wrestling kind, not the pro wrestling kind) a 285-pound man with relative ease and no pain on either end, although a little bit of dizziness from the quickness of the arch and turn. At the time, I was...maybe 110 pounds. Now, I'm pretty sure I could do 325 at least. If I can do it, these guys can do it, especially if they're helping for the lift. Same goes for everything the pro wrestlers do. It's amazing how much you can fake as long as everybody's along for the ride.

These guys have athleticism and strength training and body building on a level that you probably couldn't imagine, that's all real. But the action and events are all fake. Anybody who thinks otherwise seriously needs to reconsider their decision to continue consuming oxygen and all life-related products.

T-mansays...

Wow. I didn't mean to hijack the thread with a real/fake debate. I thought it was an impressive video (I upvoted it) and these guys are obviously great physical specimens and wonderful entertainers. But it is just entertainment.

Interesting fact, it was the WWF itself that spilled the beans. The taxes on PPV entertainment is lower than PPV sports. Also, the insurance is much lower if it's scripted entertainment. So Vince McMahon called it "sports entertainment."

Announcer 1: "I wonder what that registered on the Richter scale?"
Announcer 2: "Yeah! It was like an earthquake!"

ehm... 7.2, but who uses the Richter now a days? All the cool kids are into the "Moment Magnitude Scale" Didn't you know? Its all the rage:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moment_magnitude_scale

I guess I quoted that to initially make fun of how the second announcer totally reiterated what announcer 1 said, to dumb it down for the audience. Most of whom probably struggle understanding earthquakes as it is, much less the devices used to monitor and record them.
