I do believe that there is now evidence that the pyramids were in fact NOT built by slaves, but by an actual working class.

They camped near the pyramids and worked for a salary or as a form of paying taxes until the construction was completed.[citation needed] Their cemeteries were discovered in 1990 by archaeologists Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner.
