A bunch of people had accused her of playing slowly and then speeding up the film to make it look fast and impressive. She seemed somewhat confused and shocked that she should have to prove herself. she has one Youtube video which has her showing how she actually plays that fast and then started including the clock in videos as proof.

What's the counter in the background?

The counter is there to ensure no one claims that she performed the piece at, say, half-speed and then doubled the speed of the video. She performed a song of that complexity at its original pacing. Impressive stuff.

MaxWildersays...

I'm inclined to believe her, but I could easily program a digital clock displayed on a computer that would move at half speed so that someone could then double the speed of the video to make the clock appear to be running at normal time.

There's really no way to guarantee it's real time. But I guess the clock would be good enough for the dummies on youtube.

Personally I look for motion blur, but that could be faked too if someone was smart enough to figure out how to do it. But I've never seen it done.

KnivesOutsays...

She would have to play not only at half speed, but at a lower octave, wouldn't she? So that when she sped it up, it would play at the correct octave? Otherwise wouldn't it be very high pitched?

If she played on an acoustic piano, that would shut them up for sure.

Or spoke, even.

Once someone's got the skepticism, few things will be considered convincing evidence.
"Oh, the clock can be programmed to tick slowly. The fingers don't blur right. She doesn't speak. She only plays on electric keyboards. Her hair moves unnaturally. Look at the way her boobs bounce. Mmm...boobies."

Sagemindsays...

With 280 videos of her playing different songs on her YT site - I doubt anyone would take the time to fake so many videos - Not to mention taking the time to learn the key strokes to that many songs just to fake us out - it would be easier to just play the songs for real!

And with her credentials, I can't see her being a fake - So lets get past it... !
