Aww. Sweet moment.

And we're here with cameras capturing every tear!

I'll never get tired of watching little girls cry!

Cute moment though....not sure if they couldn't pull her out of class first though, I probably would've appreciated that at that age.

I don't see how it's nice to do this in front of your daughter's class. It such a personal moment, why not do it at home?

Did anyone else notice this is just an orchestrated event in which this father deliberately went on television to show his daughters tears to the nation?

Is this just another PR stunt to get some positive news about the still ongoing war in Iraq?

It's very interesting to see that a lot of smart people are on Videosift, and I really like the vids everyone posts and the critical thinking. But still we actually haven't really got a clue about most governmental and corporate ways of influencing the media.

Now think about all the people that are taking everything they hear on the news for granted.. That makes you doubt the democratic system in which everyone get's to vote..

^Hey, didn't you notice the peace sign? I doubt the powers that be would approve of such a mixed message.

Although I do agree with you in principle -- I just don't think this is an example of it.

As for it being in school --- is this a gender thing? I suspect that men would be more uncomfortable with such a public display. Women don't get shamed about their tears like men do and they seem to be more comfortable with them. Maybe that is sexist of me.

A lot has been made of the girl's T-shirt and earrings design. Why shouldn't the daughter of a soldier, who wants her father to come home from war, wear a peace sign? It makes perfect sense to me that she should be all for peace. I was all for the disbanding of the UK Royal Navy when my dad was away on ships just before the Falklands War. And I bet her father wants there to be peace too.

Yea it tugs at our heartstrings but this vile exploitative "voyeurism" only cheapens the event as the baring souls were sold to pimp the local San Antonio's local news station. Not to mention it's a slap in the face for those who experienced a different version of reality where their daddy didn't come home.
