Superb Lyrebird imitates construction sounds

From YT:
This is Chook, our male Superb Lyrebird at Adelaide Zoo. We've had a lot of construction going on lately and Chook has picked up many of the sounds.

We think we can hear the following sounds:
1. Hammer
2. Chainsaw
3. Jack hammer
4. Lawn mower hitting sticks
5. Leaf blower starting
6. Power drill
7. Wood saw
8. Human voices
9. Two-way radio
10.Worker whistling
He makes lots of different bird calls as well.

Awesome. I love how it seems to prefer the same kinds of sounds as Attenborough's [sp?] lyrebird did, rolling trembling sounds. My favorite from this one is the drill that segways into a a sawing sound, which the bird seems to have stored as one single sound-experience.

Nice! it does seem to have picked up on some of the same things as Attenborough's Lyrebird. The bird's audio memory and reproduction is really uncanny. It doesn't just get the big, first-order effects like the bang of a hammer. It imitates the reverberations and dulling of a noise with distance.

Somebody needs to sit one of these birds down in front of Star Wars or Monty Python' Search for the Holy Grail, or Napolean Dynamite or some other movie that is often quoted. My vote is for star wars though because of all the iconic sounds.
