Standup Comic Todd Glass Tells off Rude Girl

A girl in the back of a comedy club was talking during a comedian's set. Todd Glass was set to perform next, so on his way to the stage he asked the girl to 'shooosh'. She gave him the finger and said "who the fuck are you?" Retribution is sweet.

good but not that good. dunno why he surrendered the stage.

I think he was actually scared of her.
He may have a mic in his hand, but I'm sure he knows she has fists.

Sorry, *downvote. Didn't see anything particularly interesting here under this title.

Now...had the title been "Standup comic surrenders stage to rude girl", I may have *upvoted. That would be newsworthy.

Just like "dog bites man", "Standup...tells off rude girl" = not newsworthy.
Unless it's good. Real good. Which it isn't.
Now, like "man bites dog", "Standup surrenders stage to rude girl" = now there's news.

I'm upvoting, not because he did that in a particularly good way, but because of the content of what he was saying.

He was saying that you should not treat people like shit because you think that they are unimportant 'service' people. Treat everyone with respect, not because they may turn out to be someone of note, but because YOU would like to be treated that way.

She would appear to be one of those people who believe the universe revolves around their bloated ego. And she needs to be taken down a notch or too.

I don't like his use of 'whore' though, not cool at all, and not even used with context, as she did nothing sexual at all.

But for the main message... upvote.

I think you Upvoted simply because you agree with it.

I disagree with that.

Upvote, because he's not standing up for himself, but for others. People who are rude to waiters and waitresses are the lowest kind of scum, and it is good to see a little public humiliation thrown their way.

Sure it would have been better if he had stiff-arm'd her when she went to get on stage, but upvote none-the-less.

Or perhaps he was smart enough to recognize someone who might be dumb enough to actually swing at him. Avoiding a possible physical altercation doesn't necessarily mean someone is scared of the other person, it could just mean he didn't want to go through the hassle of cracking some girl in the jaw who came up on stage and took a swing at him. Crying screaming, the rest of the set is ruined, police get involved, possibly lawyers, or you can walk a few feet to the left avoid all of that and let the bouncers do their job.

upvote because i don't need a specific reason to justify my actions. this is the internet, not a massive corporate bailout.

great thread

the bouncers, by the way, should have done their job about 20 minutes before the incident, as far as i can see.
being that drunk and disruptive for more than 60 seconds would get you immediately thrown out of my club, stopping only to take a mugshot to stick on the wall in the box office so you are never let back in again.

if any member of the audience so much as TRIED to take the stage they would be physically removed without their feet touching the ground. In fact, i would write that on a sign above the door and get my lawyer to approve it.

The stage is sacred. drunken shouty idiots should never be allowed, let alone ENCOURAGED, to take the stage. Theatre is like church. You just don't do that.

I can't do it, but if I could downvote, I'd do it just for the "fucking whore" part alone. Laaaaaame.

Gratuitous use of the letter A equals downvote, Gabe.

Somebody wise once told me to watch out if you're dating somebody, getting to know them, and they're rude to the waiter when you go out to eat... true colours right there.

People like her are the ones who get their food spit in or "accidentally" dropped on the floor a few times before it gets to her table...

People like her are the reason Americans get a bad reputation as loud, rude, obnoxious, and demanding in other country's.

She's one of the few who makes everyone look bad. when most people at generous and polite.

Over entitled bitch needed a smack down and she got it.

Also for the folks ripping him for "giving up the stage". Remember what happened to Dimebag Darrel? I don't blame the guy one bit for bailing. Not that she had a gun, but you never know what kind of nutcases are out there.

Upvote.
Use of the word "whore" wasn't cool, but kind of understandable in the situation. He surrendered the stage so everyone in the room could see for themselves what a rude loudmouth she was.

I agree. It could also be that he didn't want her anywhere near the mic.

I hate being told to "SHHH" you can tap me on the shoulder and say "Could you please be quiet" or "Excuse me you are being loud can you please keep your voice down". But if anyone tells me to "SHHH" they get the finger.

maybe if you would STFU in public it wouldn't be a problem.

As someone who has worked in the service industry, I gave this guy a standing ovation from the other side of the internet.

Upvote for saying what needed to be said and for "surrendering the stage". What should he have done? Got thumped? That wouldn't have helped, he'd just have a sore jaw. Thumped her? That would definitely not have helped, he'd spend the night in jail at best. In this case, the celebrity (not that I've heard of him before) can't win because they're either beaten up by someone or bullying someone, it's rarely seen as self defence - especially when it's a man hitting a woman!

It disgusts me that some people think avoiding confrontation means cowardice. That sort of attitude is a huge part of why the world is a big sphere of shit. Like everything else, you gotta think about it and in this case, he wasn't going to win and he was sensible.

And, "sshhh," is just about the shortest, LEAST DISRUPTIVE way to ask someone to quiet. Why talk more when talking is the issue in the first place!!

or... how about i tap you on the shoulder and put my finger over my mouth? or make the zip your lips gesture? even quieter!

Sorry to disappoint you all but I'm quite certain that this is part of his routine.

I've been to two of his shows at the Funny Bone comedy club in Newport, KY. At some point during both shows some woman in the back row would turn obnoxious soon after he took the stage (she never made a sound during the opening comic's routine). Then Todd would begin talking about rude people who won't shut up, while pointing at her and yelling. The argument would carry on, much to the delight of the audience, before the woman is escorted out. However, unlike this video, neither time did the "rudeness" start before he even took the stage nor did the woman approach him.

This video shows the exchange taken a couple of steps further but still makes the third time I've seen this happen during one of his shows. It's a great act, but it's just an act.

How about if I just cut to the chase, and give you the finger first then?
