One of my favourite tunes!!! The Soul II Soul sound system was founded in 1988 by Jazzie B. The group began life hosting house and street parties in North London. They were also renouned for their clothing style - dubbed "Funki Dred". Taken from their debut album 'Club Classics Vol. 1', the song featured British R&B singer Caron Wheeler and reached number one in Britain (and number 4 in the States). The influence of Soul II Soul on the development of British dance music cannot be overestimated.
