Sony PS3 is not a gaming console, it's a cheap supercomputer that is only worth purchasing if you know how to boot linux into it.

Thing is all these corporate bungles won't matter much when the George Foreman grill actually does end up selling in big numbers. They probably won't hit the vast sales figures of the previous Playstations but there are too many backers of the thing for it to fail.

I was quite impressed at just how many people who know nothing else about the ins and outs of the console market still realise what a bad choice the PS3 is. Even all the "Play station is tah rox0rz" sony fan I know have just gone and bought a or Wii and no longer have any intention of purchasing the grill.

The only person I know who is still going to buy the PS3 is basically doing so because he hates to take my advice and is doing it out of spite. Oh how expensive a mistake is that going to be hehehe.

On the converse side, I have several buddies that got fed up by the XBox 360 (crashes, overheating, other issues) and switched over to PS3 out of spite. And they enjoy it a lot more than the 360. So Sony isn't the only loser here. The only winner is the Wii, and it's only getting started. (The DS took a bit of time to gain momentum too, and it didn't start out as well as the Wii.)

In response to sylvester comment "I have several buddies that got fed up by the XBox 360 (crashes, overheating, other issues)". Part of microsofts testing and develpment team are the frist generation users. Which is why people always complain about microsoft having problems. But with later versions and patches they quickly develop a better product sooner then their compeditors. Which is why major nerds and geeks still use windows, even though it sucks.

yea gorgon hit it right on the head there, micorsoft's updates (as annoying as they may be) are free and thus a hell of a lot better than purchasing a whole new system. for me, i prefer PC gaming due to the inherent capabilities for more in depth interfaces, and online play, although i do enjoy a good game of halo or gears of war from time to time. Supreme Commander FTW!
