Wouldn't it be great if they sold all that oil for like 10$ a barrel, then gave the ship back. They'd make a fortune, and the Saudis would get screwed. Seems like a fair deal to me.
And once you do, Where do you put the oil when you steal it?

You would think the storage problems this would create would give these guys away!

They can just keep it in the tanks as it is, and hold onto the ship in hope of a ransom by the ship's and/or oil's owners. That seems to be the modus operandi of these pirates, regardless of what the hijacked ships are carrying.
