studies show that people are becoming less and less violent, so it's not all doom and gloom.
one of the problems we still have left in the world is that some people are still so gullible to actively participate in aggressive conquest-for-more-power wars like this guy. if he really does question these things he should never have signed up.
Conflict is part of human nature; therefore violence is unfortunately part of human nature, between individuals and between groups. Evil does not exist simply due to the existence of modern weaponry, which is exactly what buddy just said in the video. To paraphrase Albert Einstein, so long as there are humans, there will be wars.
Also, in a world where injustice is practically non existent and everyone has a guaranteed minimum living standard, the reason for killing disappears in all but the most greedy or homicidal. You just stand to loose too much. I know it sounds like an idealistic dream, but consider how close some countries get to that dream already. (Scandinavian countries come to mind)
Besides, John Lennon believed it ;-)
large scale murdering isn't natural for humans, in this era you'd have to be brainwashed, oppressed, or religiously insane to take part in full scale aggression towards another country. humans are the only successful hominids because we're mostly intelligent and peaceful - not because we're warmongers. plus we're gradually moving away from violence over time : http://www.videosift.com/video/TED-Steven-Pinker-A-brief-history-of-violence
so it's actually all looking up. obviously a guy's gonna be pessimistic about human nature when he himself chooses to go kill Iraqis...
