Anthony Hopkins won the Oscar for Best Actor in 1991 for his performance as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Hopkins' performance remains the shortest lead acting, Oscar-winning performance ever, as Hopkins is on screen for less than 35 minutes throughout the course of the film. The film won additional Oscars for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture.
