I'm a *very* socially liberal and against racism, sexism, ageism, and any other discrimination, but I still have a sense of humor and can laugh when something is funny and not get self righteous about it.
but I think its stupid - why in the world is it "cool" to pick on Elmo? It's a KIDS thing. Elmo is representative of innocence and curiousity. If you find Elmo annoying, quit listening/watching him, fer cripessake.

Or making fun of religious fundies here in the US, is that racism against whites?
It may be making jokes at the expense of a subculture, but it is not representative of an entire "race". Even that term bothers me because race is a societal invention that only perpetuates racism; we're all human beings.
I think it skirts the edge of racism simply because anyone, anywhere would recognize the (poorly executed) attempt at sounding "arabic" and saying "Jihad Jihad" makes it pretty darned clear who this is aimed at. But uhohzombies has a point in that if we had something that poked fun at evangelical wingnuts babbling "repent repent!" nobody would think that's racist against white people or even christians in general. So...
I promise to promote this on the day that Muslims have nothing more to fear than the harsh words of British intellectuals and mask-clad hackers playing the rickroll song.

Trey Parker & Matt Stone convinced me of this point (even though I'm not really a South Park fan) when they talked about why all the terrorists in Team America talk like "durka durka jihad jihad." Their point was that these people should be mocked & ridiculed.
It doesn't help that it is blatently unfunny, too.
The video is depolorable; For the same reasons a guy in a Nazi uniform forcing a teletubby into a gas chamber in a concentration camp isn't funny.
