I usually ask for the emergency exit seats when I fly -- most of the time, this gives you all the leg-room you need.

It's gotten to the point where I dread flying as much as I dread a trip to the dentist.

Between the testy TSA boneheads and being packed into a sardine can with a bunch of nervous people, the whole experience is one best avoided if possible.

I like trains, there ought to be more of those. You can get a sleeping *room* with a couch, a recliner a private bathroom with shower for about $300 if you plan ahead (2 people).

Frankly, I'd take the train even if it takes 12 hours longer. I'll be asleep or lounging around naked with my girlfriend reading the paper or playing computer game.

The extra legroom bulkhead, emergency exit, and this guy's "secret" seats, you get almost universally charged extra now. "Premium Seating".

I find United to be worse, but they all suck to some degree. I've had the best experiences with Southwest.
