Some info:
This is a talk from TED in March of 2007 by Blaise Aguera y Arcas of Microsoft.
Some of you may well have seen Microsoft Labs' Photosynth before (you can actually play with it here: http://labs.live.com/photosynth/), which links together disparate photos by way of their actual visual content, and presents them in a 3D space built from the photo's content.
What I hadn't seen is a demo of the image/information scaling technology called Seadragon which powers the presentation side of Photosynth. It's very impressive. The whole thing is rather exciting for what could be done with it.
My head a splode. This is awesome. Must have some.
