So where I work I have about a 12" frosted glass barrier on top of my counter for privacy reasons. I found out today that a simple piece of scotch tape will make the opaque glass clear? It was quite strange.

Best web explanation (meaning, people giving semi-qualified answers on yahoo answers) suggests the adhesive on the tape fills the tiny gaps in the frosted glass, making the end of the glass smooth, and thus allowing light to exit without being refracted in all directions.

Anyway, I'm definitely trying this at work.

Exactly Demon_ix, and for the same reason oil or clear grease (like vasaline) will work too, water works but runs off and evaporates, pretty much anything that's clear and will smooth out the surface of the glass will make it more transparent.

You'd need to apply the tape to the frosted side of the glass. On a shower, the side that faces the shower is usually the frosted side, and the other side is smooth. Good luck being sneaky.

Yeah, I could have used that information about an hour ago. Instead, I was outside the shower, first giggling with a shit-eating grin, then quietly cursing after applying the tape without results, then cursing a lot more after being hit with a bottle of shower gel on the head.

First off, that my friend, is 3m tape... and all though 3m makes scotch tape, a rectangle is not always a square. BITCH.
