Sand Art From Sound

Fantastic! But turn your sound way down before you play it (or watch it first without sound and it looks like complete magic). It's very cool how the sand suddenly jumps into position when the "right" pitch is hit. So why the patterns only at certain frequencies? Is it because the "correct" wavelengths are some even fraction or multiple of the square?
