Any scientist would never be able to say either 1 or 7, that's just not the way it works - you can never be absolutely certain of anything in the natural world, unlike for instance logic or mathematics.

This depends on how you define the problem. As an atheist of the non-cognitivist persuasion I hold that the concept "God" is inherently meaningless, and therefor logically "God exists" is meaningless as well, taken this way I would be a 7, though I do this in a completely scientific/logical manner.

If someone proposed a set of non-contradictory criteria to identify an event or entity and called the described thing "God" I am perfectly willing to accept that that specified thing might exist, but even if it was proven to exist it would not be universally excepted as "God", so the "God" question is still not solved. This is a problem with the concept, or lack thereof, not with evidence or experimental method.

I agree with your take on it dgandhi. I've read enough SF to be OK with idea that universes may be spawned by some future descendant of a super collider. Could the scientist creators of these new universes be considered gods?

There's also the idea that this universe is actually a massive simulation being run on a type of computer somewhere. Whoever flipped the switch, is God.

i consider myself an atheist but i firmly think that god dose exist, in peoples minds... im not trying to make a joke, im just saying a concept is still real even if it has no physical manifestation. so in that way i do believe that god exists..
