In the village I grew up I once saw a guy bungeejump down when his cord snapped. He plummeted down on the mat below him, bounced off on a fence and broke his neck. He survived, but is in a wheelchair now. After seeing that, I would never go and do this. Doing this reverse must give a huge adrenaline rush though. Looks like a combination of a base jump and a bungeejump actually

This is nothing compared to a true reverse bungee jump.

In a true reverse, the jumper is tethered to the ground. A crane is then used to lift the jumper several hundred feet in the air. When released, (s)he rockets toward the ground at over 250mph. Upon impact, the jumper's bones break down at a cellular level, leaving only a moist powder where a skeleton once existed.

Now that's extreme.
