Rep. Weiner Debates The Public Option On Fox & Friends Related Videos

It's not like interviews on Fox and Friends is really a straight up debate to see which idea is best.
They even did the whole "here are our two strongest arguments, respond in 30 seconds" thing to him at the end, and he managed to pull it off quite well.
I'm really glad the Congressman was able to think on his feet well enough to call him out on that circular logic as well and he made an extremely valid point; they don't have any incentive to save the sick people in this country money but the taxpayers do. Brilliant!
I like this guy! You Americans better watch out I think your next president might be Mr. Weiner.
We could do a whole lot worse.
I'll probably get derided for saying this but, I'm so sick of hearing "The doctors don't get paid enough as it is." and similar comments about hospitals not getting paid enough also. As someone who works in the service field, and has had direct access to multi-million dollar estates owned by doctors, I can tell you that they would be making plenty of money if they were getting half the compensation that they currently do.
It's time Americans get over their obsession with wealth. When people become doctors to get rich, rather than to help people, there's something wrong with our society.
I think the most frustrating part is that we have a large number of foreign doctors, that get their education in their home nation, usually at little to no cost to themselves and then come to America where they can reap the rewards of our extravagant healthcare system. It's not fair to their home nations that incurred the costs of their education, or to the doctors here that made a large monetary investment to get their education in our also exhorbinantly costly university system.

unfortunately he's too "radical" for too many americans.
if he'll get any further on the national stage he'll be labeled as a socialist
right winders will do anything to smear dirt on him.
Awesome.
I like this guy.
As a student studying foreign medicine I'd like to set myself as an example of someone who's getting USA Financial Aid in order to study abroad. It's not my fault that an education costs 5-6 TIMES as much (that's right, 5x-6x) in America than it does for me in Poland.
The reason that doctor's leave their "home nations" is because doctors there have a salary which is SIGNIFICANTLY lower, even if you adjust living expenses. This leads to lower quality health-care because the doctor's don't get paid enough to care about that lab result, or doesn't have the time to run that test because he has to try to make money else-where. It also leads to rampant bribery from families to doctors who want to take care of their sick family member.
Although I suppose you could say the same for someone named Obama?
Unfortunately with a name like Weiner he'll never be president...
Why not? We elected "President Bush" 3 times.
Now it's simply against the law to not wear a safety belt.
Freedom of choice is long gone, for The Man with the Gun is there, threatening citizens into making the "right" choice for their own good, of course.
If this "public option", which will doubtless join the legendary ranks of the Post Office with wanton waste and inefficiency fails immediately, it won't just go away. Oh no, The Man with the Gun will be there, to make sure everyone does the right thing.
The Emperor wears no clothes, the weiner wears no bun.
This guy should be a Senator. He's way too smart and articulate to be in Congress.
Um...he is in Congress. He's in the House of Representatives. The U.S. Congress is bicameral all up in this biatch.
