Very nice model, but ah ... the design of the Stealth is inherently unstable. I assume they took that into account when they built it

That was what I though when I saw the video. The F-117 requires IIRC 3 flight computers to make it flyable.

If you notice that at 1:06 something falls off which makes it go all wonkey and the guy crashes it trying to land. It did seem to be flying pretty good up until then.

It looks to me like it lost one of the two tail rudders.

^ i saw different... it was unstable all the time, because look at it, that shape is not meant to fly... then they flew it towards all the people for some reason (probably in the vain hope that it might land) then they deliberately "ditch it" before people get killed.

edit, post appeared in the wrong order. yeah looks like maybe a control broke a bit but anyway i would be surprised if that shape could fly. is this the first flight of the only one in the world?

That's why I'll never understand fly by wire. You have a 'Divide by 0' error at 30,000 feet, you're done.

but if you can't manoeuvre as fast as the other guy, or hide from radar, you're also done.

i mean, rifles jam sometimes and people die, but you are still better off with a rifle than a bow and arrow.

Too bad that right tail fin failed, i bet he put many many hours into making that. Good on him for ditching it, but that must have hurt.

if you look at the first flyby, there's something hanging from the bottom of the plane that shouldnt be there. Then you can see the part(s) fly off and that's when the plane starts to fly poorly.
