I thought Maher did more snapping at Ann Coulter. Either way, I was entertained.

I'm not american, so I always had some doubts about the american educational system.
How exactly is a student's application taken into account to get into a university?
And what's the maximum SAT score? 1000?
Is the SAT all that counts, or does the highschool average count as well?
Are the most famous universities like Yale, MIT, Harvard, private or public universities?

For the record:

Apparently Bush had SAT scores higher than both Kerry and Bradley but lower than Gore.

That being said, Bradley, who in all likelihood would have never entered Princeton without his ability to shoot a basketball, did go on to be a Rhodes Scholar. Check out the story at Slate:

This is a very interesting video. I also don't live in the United States and I'm not all that clear about your system, some of EMPIRE's questions also reflect my own. Also, could someone tell me more about this show? America seems to a have a lot of nice television shows with a good variety as well.

Of course high school grades count. They also take into consideration extracurricular activities (sports, various organizations you were a member of, etc)

I don't care how liberal you are how on earth can you not be annoyed to death by Bill Maher? He's like the flippin Bill O'Riley of Democrats. He may not be as much of an a-hole but he just uses energized political dogma to play on the emotions of people who wish to have topics spoon feed to them and don't care to do any research for themselves.
