Upvote *politics of parenting.

"Because it's so much fun" - YES!

QT rocks here. JW is nutty. I think the other anchors agree.

ill upvote anything with quentin in it, but i have to say he lost a few points with me... dont get me wrong, i dont care if parents want to take their kids to that movie, but it seems a little wrong for him to promote it for children.

"Owns" is maybe not the word.

But yeah she is a horrifyingly duplicitious and vindictive harpy.

There's nothing you could put in a movie or on TV or in a videogame that could ever harm a child in any way. Rating systems are bullshit and censorship is bullshit.

That woman should be raped to death by elephants.

parents should be smart enough to censor their own children from what they may deem unsuitable. it's not the job of the movie maker, it's not the job of the crazed lady on television... it's the parents, dammit.

it's not like the movie title is misleading. it's not like it's called, "Fluffy Bunnies Come Together For a Night of Song." it's called "KILL BILL." hmm. obviously it's violent. okay, not quite convinced... watch a trailer. oh look, there's blood. should little billy see the movie? well, that's really up to the parents.

the anchors look embarrassed, as if the crazed TV lady is along the same lines as Peter's "What Grinds My Gears..."

I really enjoyed that movie. But I have to say: The lady´s got a point. The movie is extremely violent and I don´t think ANY kid should see it, whatever their parents think. Not all parents are so wonderful smart people like you guys obviously think.

In my eyes Tarantino is teh bomb, but the lady with the hat certainly is right if she questions QT´s views about kids and his movies.

btw: In Germany the movie was rated as not suitable for youths, that means only people aged 18+ are allowed to see it and i think that´s just right.

I dont know about 12 year olds now a days but when i was a kid i snuck around my parents back and watched all kinds of bloody and scary movies. Now a days people worry about school violence on the rise and bullies and such. And yet if people are limiting their children so much, Why is violent crime so much higher than it was when i was 12? (im 27 now)

Unless you keep your kids from watching TV past 7 (and never let them watch cable) they'll see violence (and sex) with little effort.

You also would have to heavily censor their games, friends, books/comics, and pretty much not let them on the internet unless you're there with them the entire time. Also you probably dont want them going to a school since people have ipods/psps that can carry video and music thats inappropriate.

Come to think of it, just don't let your kids out of the house, its not safe from images out there. Look, if your kid can't tell the difference between fiction and reality, and you think they'll act out because of it, you failed at something. In my opinion, the flander's kids are the last thing I want my kid turning into. Part of being healthy is being adjusted to the society we live in, and not all of that is sugar and spice.

Crime is not higher now, in fact it's lower. The fact is that we have a news media that is fascinated by acts of violence and such, there is national coverage when something happens. More so then ever before because violence is becoming a sensationalized rarity. There are simply more people reporting the same crimes.

Kids do know the difference, and Kill Bill is so over the top that I have serious doubts that it would scare kids that bad. There are movies that are way creepier and scarier to a kid than this and are rated PG-13. She is the Jack Thompson of movies. (I know, I went there.. ;-) )

How does a moron like that (a) get to review movies and (b) get her grinning, insincere, egotistical little face on TV in the first place? I thought Johnathan Ross was bad, but at least he has a sense of humour and some genuine respect for the artists he interviews.

No idea what channel that was, but they should be ashamed.

So many great quotes from this.
"Weseviow Dowwgs" (Resevoir Dogs)
"BECAUSE IT'S FUN!"
"It's soulless. It has no soul."
Also love how Tarentino inadvertantly strings her along. "The cool parents let their kids see it." And then she treats everything he says a serious comment.

What's with that Lee Van Cleef look? Anyway she's a bloody twat. You can't start shouting over the responses of your interviewee and expect to retain any credibility. Not even with that smug "ok" right at the end.

OMFG - "That woman should be raped to death by elephants."

Did you know she's known for wearing a different hat every week she appears on TV?

[yet more reasons to dislike her]

Watching the reporters subtle gestures at the end made me grin. You could tell that they were secretly wondering whether to just sit there and be cool or jump over the desk and dropkick this butch gasbag in the throat.

I love how Quentin handled the situation by overstating everything and antagonising her. He's totally right, if my parents took me to see a film like that I'd think they were the coolest. I did however see alot of other stuff I never was meant to see at that age and I, much like my friends, turned out NOT to be a serial killer. Surprising? Well, no.

It doesn't matter if parents don't allow their kids see it, in this modern age if they want to see something, they will.

Irresponsibility is not taking your kids to see this movie. It's not making them understand why films like this are violent and R rated.

why did she have him on in the first place? to deliberately attack him? I wonder if he knew what he was getting into when he went into that interview... and did he come away from it like, "O M F G what a ridiculous c..."

Did anyone else flash on the PS3 vs Wii commercial?

Jan == the "i'm large and in charge!" frustrated dumpy broad no one likes,
Q == the "I'M FUN!!! WHEEE!!!" madcap cutey that everyone loves to be around.

Kill Bill Vol. 1 wasn't really a "movie" for me. More like an exhibition of art or a very kickass DVD-only special feature...but for a movie, for me, I think there should be more plot, which is all in Vol.2. Cut Vol.1 to 30 min and combine with Vol.2 and then for me it's a masterpiece.
