Are you kidding? Thanks to our political correctness and the general populace being so weak willed, the CIA haven't been able to do much of a damn. Sorry, but the world is a cruel place, it's time we give those that have the interest of our country the tools to keep the rest of the world fearing our reprisals instead of making us a mockery.
Oh sorry, I forgot it's cool to bash those in power because you are all smarter and more qualified for their positions. So, how was your intelligence briefing at the pentagon this morning? I'm sure time at community colleges made you all world class leaders!
malice, i think you were born about 65 years too late and in the wrong country. oh, and FYI, we need venezuela far more than venezuela needs us. you don't think chavez knows this? that's why he has the power and can say these things. in fact, the only person/country benefitting more from high oil prices than saudi arabia and bush, cheney, rumsfeld, etc. is chavez.
also, do you even realize your making the case against your own position? you admit the world mocks us but you cannot come to terms with the reasons behind the mockery. there is a much easier solution than warring with every country on the planet.
and why do you assert a direct correlation between government officials and intelligence and demean the intellignece of people on this board? it is a well known fact that money and connections play a far greater role in advancing through government than intelligence. look at our president. there must be 30 million americans more qualified people for the job. he failed in everything he had tried prior to running for president and still almost won twice.
finally, was it political correctness when the cia attempted a coup in venezuela? it seems to me you are a bit quick to throw around the word fool and would be better served looking in the mirror.

The current administration's knickers were showing when they tried that coup thing in Venezuela. Seriously, how much more evidence do the American people need? Can't they see that this isn't about "freeing" people? If it was, we would do something about Tibet. But there's no oil in them thar Tibetan hills.

Canada comes in ftw, Mexico second, Saudi Arabia takes the bronze, then Venezuela gets honorable mention.
Iraq comes in #6, and little Kuwait comes in at #11. (i wasn't into current events back then. weren't they what all the Bush Sr. hub-bub was about? 'No Blood for Oil' was coined during this 'war' yes?)
BTW, thanks for the link, I knew about this fact for a while, but was going by "that's what I heard" and simply assuming I wasn't being lied to until now.
