I always thought Tom Cruise was a kind and laid-back kind of guy. Today, I stand corrected. I mean, it's WATER. It's not going to take your billions away from you, it's not going to ruin your career and it's certainly not taking your family away from you.

Why can't he just laugh it off? It's a prank, they're supposed to be laughed at.

I hate Tom Cruise.
But look at it this way, your talking with one of your friends and he sprays you in the face with a bottle of water.
You just laugh, slap your side and say, "Man, your funny! You got me."
No you dont, you say, "What the fuck? Why did you do that?"
That is what he did. He asked why did he do that?
I actually had no respect for Tom Cruise until I saw that video. He wasnt angry or anything like that, he just asked, "Why did you do that?" And when the guy couldnt respond, he called him a jerk. Which is pretty tame compared to what I would call someone who out of the blue sprayed me in the face with water.

Bad analogy.

He wasn't some random guy at a random location chatting with a friend. He's Tom Cruise, one of the most famous people in the world, chatting to what he thought was a reporter at a movie premier. He has an [increasingly ridiculous] image to protect.

I agree he handled himself better than Joe Q Citizen would, but it definitely looked like he didn't enjoy being knocked off his cloud of self-importance.

no, i am with tom on this one, but mainly because i am also crazy, Top Gun is my favourite film ever.

But really, I love it, that is exactly how to handle someone with the satirical mentality of a 6 year old child. Just ask them why they did it. Suddenly, they realise they did it because they are a jerk. No answer.

I have to go with some of you and side with Cruise on this one. He handled it well, a lot better than I think many people would especially in front of cameras. Yeah he is batshit crazy but try to look at it objectively and put aside your hatred for him. Many of you just like seeing bad things happen to rich famous people which yeah some of them are arrogant. Does Tom have a holy than thou sense of self importance probably, but why do i give a shit if anything good or bad happens to him. Not going to change my life any or make me feel any better about myself. Its the same pleasure people get from watching other train wrecks like Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, and so on or those people who are still praying Paris Hilton will get hit by a car and die. Who cares, dont hate them, hate the society that is so damn fascinated with them. I would rather not hear about them no matter if its good or bad.
