Meh, although it seems impressive I don't like how several times in the level the player loaded from previous save points. And worst of all, it blatantly noticiable. It would have been a lot better if they did it in one continuous session. Downvote from me. Edit: Just realized I can't downvote. So, no vote from me.
Good thing you can't downvote, because you are incorrect. Read the description of the video on the youtube page. He never loaded any save games.. he did edit out some object manipulation that would have been pretty boring.

Well, anyone can lie about "saves" the same way that BenjaminFranklin2u lies about only using 1 portal. Right?
Either way, whether he loaded saved points or not, at the end there's no way of getting around the fact that he only used 8 portals. And that's just bad ass.
He never loaded any save games.. Then why did straight after a 'Saving...' The music that was playing just happened to stop abruptly as if he'd just loaded fresh from that very same point.
Bah and humbug.
True, it still means he did the challenge with 8 portals, but overall... as a viewing experience. Meh.

Yeah I agree. If he just took the time to record and upload a video of an uninterrupted perfect session it would have been more impressive.
Oh well, I suppose mediocrity is the norm these days since people can upload whatever crap they want whenever they want.
I guess this is noteworthy because of the mention in a recent Valve interview (aside from being regular old "awesome"), but PortalWalkthroughs.com has a version beating Level 18 in 5 portals, though that one does use the "wall climb" exploit. (In fact, I didn't see it on here so I just sifted it as my very first sift evar!)

If its good enough for Valve
IF 8 portals is badass, whats 1....? Pnwed son!
If you can show me the video of 1 portal, then I tell you what it is when I see it.
I may be forced to make up a word....like...umm.....scrumtrilescent.
Perhaps in a few hundred years.
Yeah, I was hoping he was just dressing up the sentry for fun, but it turned out to have a purpose.
