Anyone know what the music at the beginning is? Couldn't find it in the YouTube comments.

Ugh, I dunno if I wanna watch this. It's probably going to make me feel really small and insignificant.

This isn't the first star comparison video, obviously, but I find it interesting that many of them contain this not so subtle message that YOU are but a speck of dust instead of focusing on the amazing massiveness and endless variations and possibilities. Why can't they just let the images speak louder than words instead of trying to cyber bully the viewer?

BS I'm not the center of the universe. Given that the universe is expanding on a large scale in every dimension, I can be the center if I damn well want to be the center. And don't you forget it.

Thanks found it. Too bad it's so short, it really feels like it's building up to something bigger.

Yes we are by definition the center of the observable universe.

Well, technically I'm the center of the observable portion of my neighborhood.

You are wrong. The Sun is the only true star in existence. The Earth is the center of the universe. That universe is only 6000 years old. All that we see are but images painted on the canvas of the sky to help us entertain ourselves until the day of Rapture(tm). At which time only believers such as myself... will be whisked away to the la-la magical land of the fairy king who goes by the name of Jesus Christ, glory and honor be to his name, amen! The rest of you will simply suffer an eternity swimming in the lake of fire. Though.. don't ask me how a deceased non-corporeal being with zero nerve endings can suffer pain and agony.. they just do. Ok?!

Instead of starting with the moon, it should have started with a human male penis. when they hear "size matters", people aren't thinking of VY Canis Majoris. But I'm sure there has been some spam out there claiming to increase the size of your celestial body...

Or better yet, demonstrate how amazing it is that we can sit here on this planet killing each other over things such as religion, when we could combine and work towards going out and experiencing all of the amazing (amazing is such an understatement) things out there.

We sit on this planet in our little rat race of our own devising, working 9-5 to live in our tiny little house on our tiny little planet, shitting on other tiny little people to get a little bit more status/money, whilst the universe flies on past without us even knowing, but calling to us, saying "You don't NEED religion to feel special, look at all these wonderments i have, and you are alive to see it. AND YOU ARE ONE OF THESE WONDERMENTS. You're so fucking special it's beyond words."

Interesting note. VY Canis Majoris is estimated at an upper limit of 2100 times the radius of the Sun. The biggest theoretically possible star would be about 2600 times the radius of the sun.

A very cool John Barry main title theme. He also did a lot of the old James Bond stuff.

Does anyone else find it funny that the biggest known object in the universe is named 'big dog' (in Latin)?

I feel your pain. Being emperor of Southern California, this realization hits me the hardest.

What land are you emperor of? Perhaps we can trade servants or swap oil wells and remember how significant we are amongst our own people.

That's like saying "Isn't it funny that the first ever BATTLE took place in a town called BATTLE? What a coincidence!"

As though they pull names out of a hat and they pull out one that translates to "little penis" and go "oh well, the hat never lies". They called it big dog.

But also, it's the largest known star, i don't think it's the largest known object. That title goes to a very large blob of gases and stars.
